Chad Chorney will be assuming his new position as TU’s Mid-Atlantic Organizer on January 9, working under the direction of Mid-Atlantic Policy Director Dave Kinney. Originally from Elmira, NY, Chad attended college at Mansfield State University where he graduated with a BS degree in Fisheries Management. He then moved to Idaho about 12 years ago to experience the incredible trout fishing found throughout the western U.S. During his time in Idaho, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a fishing guide, and was hired by Trout Unlimited in 2011 to work on river restoration projects within the Big Wood River watershed near Ketchum, Idaho. Although Chad loved his time spent in Idaho, he always knew that he wanted to eventually return home and work on protecting the landscapes where he grew up hunting and fishing.

Chad is passionate about fly fishing, bird hunting, travel, and outdoor photography…and he knows that his English Setter and Springer Spaniel are looking forward to exploring the grouse woods of Pennsylvania. Chad plans to relocate to the State College area in the near future. He can be reached on his cell phone at 208-420-4096 or by email at cchorney@tu.org
