We are pleased to announce that co-chairs have been appointed to coordinate the PATU Veterans Services  Partnership. Since the acronym VSP is sometimes used to indicate Veterans Service Partnership, and at other times Veterans Service Program, we want to make sure you understand how each of these two groups are related.

Both National and PATU have an over-arching Veterans Service Partnership which includes two groups; the Veterans Service Program and Project Healing Waters (PHW). PATU chapters who are currently involved with organized veterans’ activities are split almost evenly, with 11 conducting Veterans Service Programs, and 10 with Project Healing Waters. Each of these programs operates under a different set of rules and requirements, and it is for that reason that we have created co-chairs. Each of the co-chairs will be responsible for creating a channel of communications between the chapters and PA Council and, in the same spirit, between PA Council and the chapters.

Ernest Demastus, a veteran who is a member of the John Kennedy Chapter, has accepted responsibility for the Veterans Services Program and can be reached at 216-647-2152 or by email at cavscout8604@gmail.com.

Matthew Seymour, a veteran who is a member of the Valley Forge Chapter, will be responsible for Project Healing Waters and can be reached at 484-678-1652 or by email at mseymour1128@earthlink.net.

If you have questions about either program, please don’t hesitate to contact one of these co-chairs.
