Adams County Chapter of Trout Unlimited was honored by PA State Rep. Torren Ecker for its contribution to the benefit of the communities and ultimately the citizens of the Commonwealth. Ecker noted the chapter’s dedication to protecting, restoring and conserving local waterways while communicating with its membership and raising over $5,000 for its annual fundraiser, which was donated to Adams County Head Start after the chapter’s annual fundraiser was canceled due to COVID-19.

Chapter officers also met with the Friends of Toms Creek in an effort to reclassify the waterway and with the PA Fish and Boat Commission biologists to review ACTU’s Birch Run Project in Adams County. The chapter also raised over $16,000 toward the purchase of 58 acres along the Conewago Creek and added more than 174 restoration hours on the Conewago Creek.

Throughout its history, ACTU has made inestimable contributions to the welfare of our society through a sense of fellowship and through its programs, which are designed to enhance quality of life for all. A succession of dedicated volunteer leaders and members has made this possible, keeping ever mindful of the noble maxims of the organization.
